Blood, Lactate and Heart Rate Measurements

Trumer Performance Diagnostics, a service company in the health and sports sector helping athletes perform at their highest levels.
How was the study performed?
Trumer performance diagnostics center tested Powerinsoles effect on heart rate, speed on treadmill, and output on the ergometer. In order to establish baseline data, each test subject ran on the treadmill, or used the ergometer, before using Powerinsole. Times varied by test subject because the testing did not finish until their muscles are over acidified with lactic acid. After recovering fully, the test subjects began using Powerinsole and did the testing again, once again stopping when their muscles were over acidified. Trumer Performance Diagnostics then compared the data to determine the effects of Powerinsole.
What are the results of the study?
The mean values discovered when testing the subjects without Powerinsole were a heart rate (n=14), treadmill speed (n=10), and ergometer performance (n=4).
When the athletes had lactate values in the blood of 2 and 4 mmol:
-heart rates were lower in each case
-higher speeds on the treadmill were achieved
-Performance (watts) on the ergometer was higher
In the differentiation tests where the first was done without Powerinsole and the second was done with, encouraging results were found in regards to Powerinsoles effectiveness on heart rate, speed on the treadmill, and output on the ergometer.
2 mmol lactate levels:
- 6/10 test subjects on the treadmill were able to achieve faster speed with Powerinsole compared to without.
- 3/4 test subjects on the ergometer were able to achieve higher output with Powerinsole compared to without.
4 mmol lactate levels:
- 7/10 test subjects on the treadmill were able to achieve faster speeds with Powerinsole compared to without
- 3/4 test subjects on the ergometer were able to achieve higher outputs with Powerinsole compared to without
As we have noted before, Powerinsoles work best when wearing them for a longer period of time. The fact that these changes and improvements occurred after only a few minutes is impressive and it can be assumed that wearing them for longer periods of time would only enhance the data.
